Commonly referred to as plantation shutters, timber shutters have become a favourite choice for many homeowners. Timber shutters provide a timeless elegance to any home as well as excellent control over light and privacy.
The timber used for our shutters comes from a sustainable resource so they are not only beautiful to look at but they have a positive impact towards climate change.
To ensure that your timber shutters are long lasting and durable, we have a variety of finishes to choose from:
"I am writing to thank you all for your work on installing my new Visiontex blinds and timber shutters. It was such a trying day last Thursday, and you all worked so hard in difficult conditions. I am sitting in the lounge room without the air conditioner on, as there is no need for it. Earlier today, when I demonstrated the operation of the shade blind for that room, the increase in room temperature when it was up was immediately noticeable. As soon as the sun hits the glass, the temperature changes. I was (and am) impressed with the obviously detailed work that was done at the factory so that all the parts of the blinds and shutters fitted together so accurately on site.
Our custom timber shutters can be operated using a number of opening combinations:
Plantation shutters provide maximum control over sunlight penetration and privacy in your home – all you need to do is adjust the louvers to the desired angle. We also have various options for the placement of the louvre control arm, from the centre of the panel to the side or hidden from view completely.
Positioning the louvers during the day can allow you great control over light while still maintaining privacy.
Closing the louvers completely at night will block most of the light, as well as provide complete privacy.
The great thing about wooden window shutters is that they can be used in every room of the home. They are the perfect complement for casual living spaces, a sophisticated addition to those more formal areas, suitable for most wet areas like the bathroom, able to withstand the demands of the kitchen, and make our bedrooms feel cosy and warm. This ensures that you can achieve a sense of continuity across your whole home.
"We had our shutters installed today. Just wanted to send you a quick thank you for the professional advice and for keeping us informed along the way. They look fantastic and the installer was very friendly and did a great job.
We have a variety of additional features and options that could be added to your timber shutters to enhance their use. Speak with your consultant to see what is possible with your choice of finish and operation.
Not easily, but timber being a natural product can warp. We use quality hardwood that has been kiln dried to reduce the moisture content, as well as correct milling techniques and quality finishing systems to avoid warping. Should your shutter get chipped, it can be easily touched up.
Shutters are the perfect solution for a young family; not only are they strong and long wearing, they are completely child safe as they have no cords.
It takes time to craft quality – for that reason, it takes approximately 6 – 8 weeks from the time you place your order to installation.
Once you’ve gone to the effort of having external timber shutters for windows installed, you’ll want to ensure that they continue to look their best. It is recommended that you don’t use any chemical cleaners on them, as this can actually damage the surface. Instead, give them a regular dust using a microfibre cloth. If the louvres have become coated with thick dirt, this can be removed with a damp cloth – ensure that it’s not sopping wet and only use a mild soap!
